Millet Waffles
~Millet Waffles~
Ingredients:
5 Cups of Water.
3 Cups Oats.
2 Cups Millet.
1/2 Tablespoon Salt.
1/2 Cup Walnuts, Coconut, Almonds or Sunflower seeds Opt.
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender, starting with the Millet then adding the Oats and Salt, Nuts and lastly the Water. Blend for 30 Seconds or more, or until fairly smooth, then pour the batter into your waffle Iron and cook for about 5-7 minutes. For more ideas check out our Cornmeal Waffle recipe!
You can switch the Millet in this recipe for whole Spelt Grain, or Barley, Oats, Quinoa, or something else! You may have to add some more water if your batter gets too thick, especially after it sits for a while. You also can add Some shredded Coconut or Walnuts or Sunflower seeds or Almonds or something!
Tip: You can sprinkle some shredded coconut or seeds on the Waffle Iron and then on top of the batter before you close it, to keep the batter from sticking!
You also can flip your waffle Iron to make it fluffier--If your waffle Iron is capable of being flipped without melting or something!!!
