Open Air - GODSPLAN part 2

Open Air

"It’s about something that surrounds this planet and has many gases in it…" That was the hint in the previous issue, did you figure it out? If so, then good for you! We're going to be looking at the importance of "Open Air"!

Everyone knows that humanity must have air to breathe, in fact, it is more immediately necessary than food or even water. Deprive someone of air and very shortly they're unconscious with death closely following. Air is very important. But is all air the same?

Some years ago, I met a woman who was a nurse. She told my family how she had previously lived in Mexico City, Mexico, and whilst there she had some blood work done. Afterwards, she moved to Idaho (where I currently reside) and often in the summertime we have very, very, impure air due to wildfires. So much so, that I've been able to look directly at the sun on many occasions, because the smoke filters out so much of the sun's brilliance that you can stare right at the orangy-pinkish orb. Anyways, one season when we had been having smoke, she went and had blood work done again, and she told us that her blood in the countryside of Idaho looked nearly identical to her blood when she lived in the heavily populated city--Dirty.

Why is this interesting? Well, Leviticus 17:11 says: "For the life of the flesh is in the blood"; if dirty air = dirty blood, what does dirty blood = ? [NOTE: I'm not a health professional, so I'm not going to give consultation or diagnosis, but rather just share some thoughts, stories, etc. wanting to provoke you to think for yourself!] Since God says that our blood is vitally connected to our life, I've concluded for myself that God desires me to give my blood everything as pure and clean as possible! (Praying for Him to do what I can't! :-))

The Autumn of 2023 I went on a trip down to SoCal. On the way home, we spent a night in an Idahoan cattle town, and in all honesty, when we reached McCall, Idaho (which is in a gorgeous area, by the way, you might like to look it up!), I breathed in and in and in and told my Mom that this is what I was waiting for--AIR!!! There's something just so emotionally healing to me in mountain air, ocean air, well, clean air in general to me as well...It makes me just want to inhale, smile, and thank the Lord for the life that He's given me! There's nothing quite like going into the mountains, hiking up to the peak, taking in the 360 view and breathing. Maybe harder at first, but the experience is so rewarding and delightful to me--!!!

But...right now it's cold here where I live, and I end up spending the majority of my time indoors. So, what do I do? Well, I like to have my window cracked a tiny amount, and I personally can really tell the difference between sleeping in a air-tight room and one with the window cracked. I sleep so much better with even a small opening for air-flow. When I exercise in the open air, even if it's cold, I feel so rejuvenated! If it's close to zero Fahrenheit (or below) I prefer to wear a scarf over my nose, otherwise my nostrils stick to each other.

In closing, I hope that you can see why I believe that Open Air is so very important for me, and I'll leave conclusions to you, but now let's look at a Spiritual side to this. Do you need to "breathe" for your Spiritual Life? Yes, yes indeed! Someone once said that "Prayer is the Breath of the Soul" and I so agree! We need to "breathe" God's "Breath" too! "Breath" in the Bible is very connected to the Holy Spirit (Job 33:4 and Isaiah 40:7); what would we be without the Holy Spirit?! Spiritually dead after just a short a time! So, I encourage each of us to take the time today--and everyday--to breathe--whatever you decide is best for your body, and don't forget also to breathe deeply God's unadulterated Word, to receive His Spirit, and to hold communion with Him through Prayer!

"God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. Be still, and know that I am God:  I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah."
